it's very strange because mkvmerge GUI told me that .h265 file & .xml file are not recognize (see attached file)...

The isn't a stream it contains configuration infos for mkvmerge, if you use the gui and configure it properly the xml shouldn't be needed.

ok for the xml file
but the h265 video file is also not accepted by mkvmerge GUI with the same Windows message...

No Clue about the video stream. Try to playback it using player like vlc.

It's a raw stream so no wonder speed doesn't fit and there's no length info.
-> seems like a bug in mkvmerge. Nothing I can do about it.

which mkvmerge version do you use please ?
my mkvmergeGUI version is V2.9.8
