Nothing happening
#1
Hello,

2018.06.03.1 is the third version of Hybrid I've tried, and all of them yield the same result: I start Hybrid, I see a logo, some writing flashes under the logo for a few seconds, and then nothing. Hybrid just sits there, no CPU activity, no I/O, nothing. After several minutes I finally terminate it using Process Explorer.

Win10 Pro (x64) April update (1803), 12GB RAM, Intel/AMD switchable graphics, everything up to date.

Any clues? Confused

Thanks.

Bill

Any any anti-virus or deskop firewall running that could interfere?
Did you modify your system in an uncommen way?

I will create a special version for you later which will additionaly open a console window and post some data there.

I have no indication of anything unusual from any of my security processes. Any warnings that appear initially are subsequently flagged as "trusted".

I don't believe my system is "unusual", except, perhaps, in the sense that it is running quite smoothly these days, despite a difficult update to 1803 Smile

I will test anything you request.

Thanks.

A bit of a change in the behaviour, though probably meaningless.

Even before installing the debug version, I tried running 2018.06.03.1 with Win8 compatibility, but same result. Then I tried Run as Administrator, and this time it simply terminated by itself, rather than hanging.

The debug version also just terminated the first time I ran it, the console window closed by itself. The second time it hung, with the console still open, and showing this:

This last line is also what I see under the logo when the normal version hangs.

Good night and good luck.

Okay, seems like QSVEncC hangs and blocks Hybrid.
-> delete QSVCEncC inside the Hybrid/64bit system.

I renamed QSVEncC.exe, and then it hung on CUETools.FLACCL.cmd.exe. I renamed that, and now I get the GUI.

Thanks.

Sounds like there is a general opencl driver problem in your system.
