Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - atomico - 07.04.2025 good morning to all, i have a little problem with frame rate of a source RAW 1:1 mkv. i extract the mkv RAW 1:1 (dvd ntsc JP) with MAKEMKV and i obtain a RAW file with 23,976 fps but when i load this file into Hybrid in the info tab i see 29,97 CFR when i start encoding the resulting file mkv have audio not syncronized. i try the same encoding with Handbrake and the resulting mkv was perfect (also the audio sync) turn back to Hybrid (because, for me, the encoding are better) and go to FILTERING TAB --> Misc and activate OVERWRITE OUTPUT and setting the correct fps. at the end of new encoding the mkv is perfect, also the audio sync. my quest is: it's the right way to have the correct fps of the original RAW 1:1 mkv? or i have to go to the SPEED CHANGE TAB? thanks to all P.S. Selur, i send you a mail, but read that for support is better to write here (sorry for email to you) RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - Selur - 07.04.2025 Quote:my quest is: it's the right way to have the correct fps of the original RAW 1:1 mkv?Normally, Hybrid should see that the mkv was created with MakeMKV and that the source was a DVD. Then it should either assume 29.97fps telecined / interlaced or (soft) telecined as input, depending on the other flags that were set by MakeMKV. Hybrid then would, assuming the output isn't configured to be interlaced, deinterlace, apply IVTC (or a soft-pulldown if DGDecNV is supported and the source should be '(soft) telecing'). That would be the correct way to handle this. If for some strange reason your DVD wasn't DVD compliant or MakeMKV changed its signaling of content, you should overwrite the input frame rate ('Filtering->Misc->Overwrite Input->Overwrite input frame rate'), not the output frame rate. By overwriting the input frame rate Hybrid can take that frame rate into account if other filters are used. It would help, if you could provide a debug output (read the sticky on how to), so I can see what is happening (what flags are set to what values according to MediaInfo&co). Cu Selur RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - atomico - 07.04.2025 hi Selur, ehmmm... not sure to understand where to find the debug... i am on iMac (high sierra 10.13.6) and hybrid is the 2020.12.13.1 version the debug of the loaded mkv in hybrid? or the mediainfo? i attached the mediainfo file of the mkv raw 1:1 i also attached the log when hybrid load the mkv RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - Selur - 07.04.2025 Quote:the debug of the loaded mkv in hybrid? or the mediainfo?I wanted a debug output of the loading of the mkv in Hybrid, but since you are on an outdated and not supported version, that info is useless. ![]() The sticky in the forum describes how to properly create the debug output. Quote: i am on iMac (high sierra 10.13.6) and hybrid is the 2020.12.13.1 versionARGH,...okay. Then this is a problem that has long been fixed and with that version overwriting the frame rate is probably the only thing you can do. RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - atomico - 07.04.2025 mmm... try to use a "portable" version (ready to use, not installing) of Hybrid with WINE app for mac? RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - atomico - 09.04.2025 good morning Selur, 2 news: -try with "overwrite output" (into actual OSX) and seems working well. - try installing (on VIRTUAL MACHINE) ubuntu desktop last version and download hybrid for linux. in this case i find in FILTERING -> Misc -> Overwrite Input what you suggest me before try to encoding and i obtain the correct mkv one notice, when i load the MKV RAW 1:1 hybrid read always 29fps best regard and thanks RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - Selur - 09.04.2025 Quote: one notice, when i load the MKV RAW 1:1 hybrid read always 29fpsDo you mean 29.97 fps or 29 fps? 29.97fps, is what I would have expected and which is probably correct. RE: Problem with frame rate of RAW 1:1 mkv - atomico - 09.04.2025 yes, 29,97 fps ![]() so, into linux is correct what i do? in any case, into OSX (and the old version of hybrid) the mkv encoded looks good also whit "Overwrite Output FPS" (the important is that there is not some complication in encoding) |
