when choosing

the menu doesn't change

nothing is changing

RE: Hardware resize/upscale - Selur - 18.02.2023

Nothing under 'Crop/Resize' should change.
Like I wrote multiple times, the NVEncC setting only overwrites the default value set through the Crop/Resize-tab.
The command does change (to '--vpp-resize super' in your case), this is the only thing that should change.

Seems like it. (Apparently I don't get what you are looking for.)

from these methods?

what good upscaling old videos?

RE: Hardware resize/upscale - Selur - 20.02.2023

None of these is meant for super-resolution upscaling, better look at the Vapoursynth or Avisynth resizers.
If you have a modern NVIDIA card, I could also send you a link to Hybrids torch-addon, which adds a bunch of ai trained filters, like ESRGAN, BasicVSR++, SCUNet.
Also note that often before upscaling proper filtering should be done.

Side note:
'Old videos' doesn't say anything of the nature or the quality of the videos. So that statement, doesn't really say much.

But it is still totally unclear what you mean by 'to add - hardware encoder'.
There is no resizer that is named 'hardware encoder'.
I have no clue what you want to say by linking to the other thread about filtering an .avi file.
Huh
