RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 Aside from ccd I would definitly try to fix the chroma issues with either a denoiser (in chroma only) or/and some derainbow filtering. Will look at it later, after Work Cu Selur RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - lastchance22 - 07.04.2026 From what I can see, the source has some interlacing and noticeable rainbow artifacts. I’ve attached a screenshot for reference. I was able to resolve the interlacing using QTGMC and corrected the frame blending (ghosting) with SRestore, but the rainbow artifacts around edges are still present. RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 try a. RainbowSmooth b. HQDN3D with 0 on luma, but increased Chroma filtering. (mainly increase spatial and be careful with increasing temporal) RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - lastchance22 - 07.04.2026 Things are a bit improved with your suggestions, thanks! It’s still not perfect, though—if you could help me fine-tune it further, that would be amazing. Also, could you share the exact HQDN3D settings you recommend? That would be really helpful. RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 Will look at it after work. RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 Okay, neither HQDN3D nor RainbowSmooth will help with those since they are static on single images. Only way to get rid of those is: a. writing some custom script b. using some machine learning filter like BasicVSR++ (maybe there is a model over at https://openmodeldb.info/ could also help) Problem is, you basically need something that is meant to be 'destructive/creative'. Cu Selur RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 Here's TIVTC + (edge masked) BasicVSR++ + CCD: script: https://pastebin.com/atBPmEd5 clip: https://www.mediafire.com/file/cggb5es5ohxcg7o/idea_2.mp4/file and TIVTC + CCD + (edge masked) BasicVSR++ clip: https://www.mediafire.com/file/axovf8rd81f5jod/idea_2_switched.mp4/file Cu Selur RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - lastchance22 - 07.04.2026 Hey, thanks a lot for taking the time to help me out and for all the suggestions you gave me. I really appreciate it. Thanks to you, I’ve already managed to improve the render a bit, so I’m genuinely grateful for that. That said, I don’t think I’ll go down the AI-based route. I’d like to preserve the authenticity of the anime as much as possible, even if that means keeping some of the original imperfections. By the way, what would you recommend for deinterlacing and ghosting? What do you think is the most effective approach for those? Thanks again for your help! RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - Selur - 07.04.2026 there is no best: 1st try to do proper source handling 2nd for telecined contend: TIVTC or QTGMC + sRestore 3nd for interlaced content: QTGMC (+ sRestore if you have blends) 4th anything lese get creative there is no real removing of ghosts only solution atm. is dropping or replacing frames with ghosts in them. RE: Ringing, Mosquito or Blocking - lastchance22 - 07.04.2026 Alright, got it — thanks! And if I want to use your script, how should I go about it? I’m really bad at this stuff Like, should I just load it directly into Hybrid or do I need to modify anything first? Thanks again for your help! |
