what's the best way to QTGMC Deinterlace with no loss by using Hybrid? - ssdde - 07.04.2020 a original video file, 1080i, 7.46GB, i only want to Deinterlace and get the best quality 1080P file, so in hybrid need to set X264? and how the bitrate part setting? encoding mode choose "average bitrate (1-pass)"? Bitrate (kbit/s): 17300. is it right to set the number 17300 base on the original file? Thanks for help. here is the original file info below: General Unique ID : 187377166985269172262150344274608508568 (0x8CF787990D4DE86AB7EB267B72E5CE98) Complete name : SBS.You.Who.Came.From.The.Stars.2013.Ep10.HDTV.1080i.MPEG2.AC3@cdq119.mkv Format : Matroska Format version : Version 4 File size : 7.46 GiB Duration : 59 min 4 s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 18.1 Mb/s Encoded date : UTC 2016-04-04 08:50:17 Writing application : mkvmerge v9.0.1 ('Obstacles') 32bit Writing library : libebml v1.3.3 + libmatroska v1.4.4 Video ID : 1 Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@High Format settings : BVOP Format settings, BVOP : Yes Format settings, Matrix : Default Format settings, GOP : Variable Format settings, picture struc : Frame Codec ID : V_MPEG2 Codec ID/Info : MPEG 1 or 2 Video Duration : 59 min 4 s Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 17.3 Mb/s Maximum bit rate : 17.7 Mb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Active Format Description : Full frame 16:9 image Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 29.970 (30000/1001) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Interlaced Scan order : Top Field First Compression mode : Lossy Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.278 Time code of first frame : 00:00:00;00 Time code source : Group of pictures header GOP, Open/Closed : Open GOP, Open/Closed of first fram : Closed Stream size : 7.14 GiB (96%) Default : Yes Forced : No Audio #1 ID : 2 Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Commercial name : Dolby Digital Codec ID : A_AC3 Duration : 59 min 4 s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 384 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 31.250 FPS (1536 SPF) Bit depth : 16 bits Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 162 MiB (2%) Title : 韩语原音 Language : Korean Service kind : Complete Main Default : Yes Forced : No Audio #2 ID : 3 Format : AAC LC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity Codec ID : A_AAC-2 Duration : 59 min 4 s Bit rate : 128 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : 14 ms Stream size : 54.1 MiB (1%) Title : 纬来戏剧国语(李世扬版主配) Language : Chinese Default : No Forced : No Audio #3 ID : 4 Format : AAC LC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity Codec ID : A_AAC-2 Duration : 59 min 4 s Bit rate : 128 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : 14 ms Stream size : 54.1 MiB (1%) Title : oneHD国语(康殿宏主配) Language : Chinese Default : No Forced : No Audio #4 ID : 5 Format : AAC LC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity Codec ID : A_AAC-2 Duration : 59 min 4 s Bit rate : 128 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel layout : L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 46.875 FPS (1024 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : 14 ms Stream size : 54.1 MiB (1%) Title : 粤语 Language : Chinese Default : No Forced : No Text #1 ID : 6 Format : UTF-8 Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8 Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text Duration : 58 min 51 s Bit rate : 58 b/s Count of elements : 982 Stream size : 25.4 KiB (0%) Title : 简体中文 Language : Chinese Default : Yes Forced : No Text #2 ID : 7 Format : UTF-8 Codec ID : S_TEXT/UTF8 Codec ID/Info : UTF-8 Plain Text Duration : 58 min 51 s Bit rate : 58 b/s Count of elements : 982 Stream size : 25.4 KiB (0%) Title : 繁体中文 Language : Chinese Default : No Forced : No RE: what's the best way to QTGMC Deinterlace with no loss by using Hybrid? - Selur - 07.04.2020 Quote:a original video file, 1080i, 7.46GB, i only want to Deinterlace and get the best quality 1080P file, so in hybrid need to set X264?personally I would use x265, since for HD and higher resolutions is usually preserves more quality at the same bitrate. Quote: and how the bitrate part setting? If you want to keep the file at the same size (= average bitrate) better use 2pass encoding. Quote:Bitrate (kbit/s): 17300. is it right to set the number 17300 base on the original file?I would say: No, since you also change the format from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 AVC/HEVC. If it's mainly about preserving quality I would say: forget the bit rate and reencode using a 'constant rate factor'. Try on a sample to see which ratefactor preserves enough details for you while lowering the file size enough. (I would recommend to start with values around 16-24) Cu Selur RE: what's the best way to QTGMC Deinterlace with no loss by using Hybrid? - ssdde - 07.04.2020 yeah, thank you. i tried. if using x264, keep the same bitrate, 17300K, average 1-pass, with Avisynth QTGMC, the finished encoded file size is almost like the original one, about more than 7.5G, the quality is almost the same through naked eye, though file size is big, the no loss quality is all i want. but using x265, i don't know how to set the specific bitrate to achieve the same result by x264 average 1-pass 17300K, is there a way to conversion the bitrate between x265 and x264? i tried using x265, keep the same bitrate, 17300K, average 1-pass, with Avisynth QTGMC, the encoded file is only little smaller than the x264 encoded, and seems no difference with quality. MPEG2 to MPEG4, by x264 or by x265, is there any bitrate conversion way for no loss convert? thanks and if is it possible to using Hybrid to convert MPEG2 video to MPEG2 video? keep the same original encode, but with with Avisynth QTGMC, only deinterlace, no matter how big the file size . i see in the list, the video list should set to "passthrough" to keep the MPEG2 encode? RE: what's the best way to QTGMC Deinterlace with no loss by using Hybrid? - sunarowicz - 07.04.2020 Keeping the original birtate when converting from MPEG2 to x284 or x285 is pointless to me. You just waste you storage space, nothing else. The perceived quality won't be better than in case of much smaller output file. Follow Selur's proposal on constant rate factor and its recommended values instead. RE: what's the best way to QTGMC Deinterlace with no loss by using Hybrid? - Selur - 08.04.2020 passthrough = video will not be changed. If you want to deinterlace you need to reencode. Color doesn't differ here between x264 and x265 encodes.
