ESRGAN → No preview.. - ToiletDuck - 21.12.2023

howdy,


Like the topic title say, iam using ESRGAN (upscaler) on a media file of prox 45 min.  
I don't get a sneak preview to see..  The preview pops up , but i don't get any frame to see!

Nor do i get any error messages to see.. abosolute none..

Have played by turning off/on features like tensor/fp16, but it's of no use..

Only small samples of couple minutes do work flawless !

Do i have to wait more, after preview pops up ? 
but then again, i don't see any gpu/cpu activity... not much like x% on both !


EDIT:  Maybe important, my source are *.vob files  → DVD structure this time NOT mkv or any other container.. that might be it !

No details, no clue. Works fine here.
Check taskmgr to see whether the gpu is used,... wild guess is that is just takes some time.

Yep the Devil is in the Detail alright ..

What dya think of this detail.. I have loaded an DVD Structure this time → vob files instead of mkv,m2ts .. Cool
Is that it?


will soon know , ill create an dvd structure from a small sample ..

The resizer should not depend on the source, I assume you checked that the preview works if you do not use whatever resizer you are using.

Well, i have to disagree Sir Selur..  
Just created an dvd structured map from that same small sample i have used yesterday whit wich the upscale filter had no problems.. remember?

Back then i've used "Sinc" as resizer , for as sharp as possible image , and low as possible ringing you know.. 

So, yes.. ofcourse the preview filter works with the small sample , but not loaded from dvd structure..  Dodgy 
Just tested..

fyi, dvd structure does play flawless in pdvd

..just have tried to just load the video file (*.vob) from dvd structure... 

This is what i get in return ↓  Confused

EDIT: forgot to mention, i made sure the dvd structure contains only 1 vob file , not several segments...
...Update 2:

Have reset hybrid again, just to be sure my custom settings didn't messed something up..

But now, hybrid doesn't want to load the dvd structure at al ↓  Dodgy

Ignore that ↑ last... to work arround this i have to change the following setting "Change minimum leght Mpls/dvd (min) 

It's confirmed, NONE of the Vapour filters do work once i load a dvd structure !!
Only in Avisynth mode , filters do work on dvd source. :/

The problem is the source filter. Smile

vapoursynth.Error: MPEG2Source: Function does not take argument(s) named fieldop
fieldop is used when Hybrid detects soft telecine.
Seems like this parameter doesn't exist, but it was added in DGMPGDec 2.0.0.8
I will check the versions that ship with the installer.
Since you got an NVIDIA card, enabling "Filtering->Vapoursynth->Misc->Source->Use DGDecNV when available" in the meantime should help.
