Does the Fedora install work? Vapoursynth and plugins are installed, scripts are in the .hybrid folder but no Vapoursynth. Bestsource did fail to install when doing the plugins, buit installing that manually didn't help.
vspipe --version shows this

Depending on your setup, you might have to set

vsScriptPath=<PATH to Hybrids Vapoursynth scripts>
enableVapoursynth=TrueIf you start Hybrid from a terminal, it should report where it looks for Vapoursynth and whether it enabled or disabled Vapoursynth support.

Editing the misc.ini got Vapoursynth to show, but it crashed.

lsmas.LWLibavSource => LSMashSource
Depending on your Settings under "Filtering->Vapoursynth->Misc->Source" and the type of your source, Hybrid will use a different source filter.
On Linux, mainly: BestSource, LWLibavSource /LSMashSource from lsmas, FFmpegSource2 from ffms2.

libffms2.so and libvslsmashsource.so are both in the plugins folder.

Then Vapoursynth likely doesn't load the plugins inside the plugin folder on your system.

Created a .conf file with UserPluginDir=/home/mike/opt/vapoursynth/vsplugins/. Still get the same error in the preview.

On Linux, filters have to be loaded by the native Vapoursynth.
For some reason your Vapoursynth Version doesn not autoload your filters, which is why I linked the Vapoursynth doc,...
