No "Encoder settings" in Mediainfo - TheRealBix - 15.08.2017
First, please let me thank you for the software, it's incredibly powerfull but I may need few years to understand and use all parameters ^^'
Anyway, my problem concerns all x265 encodes I do/did, MediaInfo dosen't display any info about Encoder Settings or other tags.
I have the last versions of Mediainfo and Hybrid on Win10, is there a setting somewhere to check in Hybrid or anything I forget ?
What I get in x265

Assuming you create mkv files: Replacing the mkvtoolnix with the latest release should fix the issue.

I didn't think it was a bug so I have no log and the revelant information was actually inside mediainfo data :/

You mean I can change myself which .exe Hybrid uses ?
EDIT : Ah yes indeed in Config/Tools
I have pointed to MKVtoolnix own folder instead of replacing the exe in Hybrid folder, and it seems to be working fine
Thanks you !

personally I would replace the .exe files inside the Hybrid folder, but changing the path and saving the defaults would be fine too.

Hi all!
Thanks for a very nice software!
It seems as though I have the exact same problem as
'TheRealBix' had, but I haven't been able to get
the ENCODER_SETTINGS listed in mkv-files when using
Hybrid, regardless of which encoder I use.
I have naturally tested all the things previously
discussed in the thread, with no success.
Now, I wonder which value I have to use in the
following tag in order to get x265 to export the
used encoder settings to the mkv-file:
Config-Output-MKV Tags
Tag name: ENCODER_SETTINGS
Value: ???
My system
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Hybrid ver 2018-02-18.1
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
MKVToolnix ver 21.0.0
x265 version 2.7 and the original 2.6 in Hybrid
I've probed this forum, matroska.org and many more
sites in order to find the value I have to use in
order to get the x265 encoder to export the encoding
information to the mkv-file.
I haven't been successful yet, so I hope someone
can inform me of how to pursue?
RE: No "Encoder settings" in Mediainfo - Selur - 11.03.2018
Encoding settings are not set through mkv tags!
DO NOT MESS WITH THE TAGS IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
I did the following for testing:- started Hybrid
- set 'Base->Processing->Video' to x265
- set a output file with .mkv extension
- added the job to the queue
- started the queue
I then looked at the file with mediainfo I get:
mediainfo.exe "h:\Output\test.mkv"

This is the default behaviour and did only not work a while back when there was a bug in mkvmerge.
