Hybrid only encoding partial videos
#1
Hello,

I am new to Hybrid and have been excited about it and getting excellent results upscaling and denoising VHS captures.

It was working very smoothly for me for the first couple of weeks, but lately I'm consistently only create a new video that's a small portion of the total video I'm trying to convert. It sill says 'finished' at the bottom of the screen and in 'jobs' when it stops its operations, sometimes even with 100% listed in jobs, with no errors listed. However, the resulting videos are still only a small portion of the total.

I haven't been able to figure out what is going on here or how to fix it, or why this is suddenly happening nearly every time (from different sources) whereas it was working almost flawlessly previously (the only prior issues were occasional crashes, but it would clearly fail in those cases).

I'd appreciate any insight - thanks!

Please, read the sticky and create a debug output of the whole process you do.
Without enough details I have nothing to go on.

Wild guess: try another source filter.

I came here to report this same issue.  It may or may not be related, but I have also noticed that Hybrid is quitting at the 50% mark of the encoding step (vspipe/x265) and that the frame rate of the result is double what it should be.  For example, if I use QTGMC with Bob, I get a 59.97fps result, but I have to play it back at half speed to get the correct video.

I'm running the Linux 64-bit binary (not AppImage) dated 20251109.  I'll work on collecting the additional debug logs for this.

Yes, I'll need a debug output to know what's happening there.
might be an issue with the analysis, the extraction/decoding, the using Vapoursynth script or the muxing,...

FYI, if I deinterlace my source video first, then that seems to fix the FPS issue I was seeing.

Re: truncated videos, I just realized that if I change the source video, I should click "Open File" in hybrid even if the name didn't change, so that it can probe it again.  I'm not sure if that was part of my problem, but it could have been.
