I recently recorded a LaserDisc of the German-language version of Herzog’s Nosferatu in AmaRec (in lossless). Although there were no dropped frames on either side of the recordings made based on the generated report, it duplicated one extra frame in succession for most of the runtime on side one. Additionally, there were three or four extra frames duplicated for much of side two. I saw in another thread that Selur recommends either TIVTC (mode 7) or sRestore. If I try sRestore, which mode should I check? Also, should I check "decimate after"?
An experienced AmarRec user recommended I set Sharpness to nil (in the Video Proc Amp of my capture device) while recording to avoid increasing or amplifying visible noise. So now I would like to add mild or moderate sharpness in Hybrid. I see Selur prefers FineSharp or LSFMod filters. Do you ever use low or high damp? For LSFMod, do you select an edge mode? Is it okay to select “slow” or will that greatly prolong post-processing?
