I have no idea how to find out what is causing the problem. Any suggestions?

Also try switching to sneedif instead of nnedi3cl in the musc section

Currently running another Hybrid job with HWiNFO also running.

HWiNFO <- that should show the temperatures Smile
You can also try whether it makes a difference to enabled "Filtering->Vapousynth->Misc->Script->Prefer->SNEEDIF".

Did you check the temperatures of your system?

I'm not seeing anything obvious. Is there any way to do a system debug/diagnostic?

Is there a way to run a crash report from HWiNFO?

I have also installed WinDbg but it's way beyong my capabilities.

No, clue, never used it.

If neither system temperature nor memory temperature seems high and the system (cpu, gpu, memory) isn't over- or underclocked, I would recommand running some memory test (like MemTest86), run some GPU benchmarking tools for a while or some stress tools (like https://www.jam-software.com/heavyload).

Running HeavyLoad I then opened Hybrid, and the PC instanly froze. HeavyLoad reported 100% CPU useage at crash and Hybrid failed to open. Hmm...

HeavyLoad will stress test the system.
It has nothing to do with Hybrid.
You might want to read the description of it.

If it already causes your system to crash, then something independent of Hybrid is wrong with your setup.
This could be:
a. some strange running up
b. temperature issues
c. over-/underclocking issues
