LOL, found the issue: Vapoursynth wasn't used. 
This was caused due to some old code when Avisynth/Vapoursynth/FFMpeg shared one ColorMatrix interface.
(would have worked if you had used another Vapoursynthfilter in addition to ColorMatrix
)
