'array too big.' error

in a command prompt with admin rights with
C:\Windows\system32\FSUTIL. EXE 8dot3name set g: 0
you should be able to enable 8dot3name creation (not sure whether you have to move the folder or whether it also creates them for existing folders)

For me it seems to work:
