From your point of you there are advantages/disadvantage in reading the clip inside the filter or is better to call it in the main vapoursynth script ?

it probably comes down to threading and cache handling. Since HAVC is rather slow to begin with, I doubt it will really make much of a difference. To be sure you would have to ask myrsloik.

I will try to send you a chart using draw.io.

Looking forward to it, it should help a lot to implement this in Hybrid.
