Played around a bit and added a 'FinegrainMask' to Hybrid.
Here a few examples of what the mask look like (black parts would be kept from the source):
Finegrain_mClean_binarize_0.541:

I uploaded a new dev which supports this, maybe this allows you to keep the 'noise/details' you want.
You probably should play around with the scale&binarize values and the different FinegrainMask modes, to get a feel for it and maybe find a 'good' value.
