[BUG] Deep Remaster and Deep Reference modes both crash; ColorMnet reference mode is OK
#6
Quote:1. No idea what you mean with Debug info. It's not described in your HAVC user guide PDF.
HAVC is not from me but Dan64, read the sticky for how to create a debug output.

Quote:2. I have the same problem on two PC's. My question was whether it has to do with the Setup order: I first install Hybrid and then the Vapoursynth colorizer files. During the install of Vapoursynth colorizer there is the choice between overwriting already existing Hybrid files or not. I have a feeling that the crash is related to that?
Using Hybrid with the torch-add-on which includes HAVC, would require you to:
a. install Hybrid
b. delete the Hybrid\64bit\Vapoursynth-folder
c. extracting the torch-add-on into the 64bit folder, which will create a new Vapoursynth folder
I doubt the crash is related to that.

regarding 3.&4.: You have to ask Dan64 about that.
Dan64 is the author and maintainer of HAVC.

Quote:5. Pity you can't be contacted by e-mail.
Not sure who you want to contact, me or Dan64, but I guess like me Dan64 probably is happy about not answering support requests via e-mail.

Quote:6. Please improve the saving of the settings in HAVC. Every time having to set up Reference-, Output- and Input- folders, colorization modes, the constant rate 1-pass (in stead of 2-pass: why?), the AVC to 4.2. in stead of 5.1 (under X264) and other stuff, is not very pleasing if I may say so. Every time I start up Hybrid I have to re-set a dozen things...
It would be so much better if HAVC remembers ALL the last settings. A rather easy update, I would think.
reading [INFO] About profiles and saving settings,.... should help.

Quote:7. Hybrid frequently disappears from the Windows Taskbar and is then hidden in the clusters of lesser used apps (under the "^" button). Kindly improve that.
You would have to ask Microsoft for this. This is not something Hybrid could change without administrator rights.
(normally simply dragging the icon into the system tray should tell Windows to keep it there)

Quote:8. Are you contemplating on improving the UI? That would be nice. Currently it is rather nerdy if I may say so.
Not really, since I'm happy with the user interface as it is.
Quote:Hybrid is intended for advanced users. It's not intended to be a tool used by everyone. It's not intended to please amateurs who need a wizard-like interface.. If you don't know the basics about containers, video formats, etc. Hybrid is not meant for you.
So, if you have suggestions, I'm happy to hear them, but don't expect me to discuss in length why I won't implement them.
