[HELP] NTSC DVD with a Soft Telecine
#4
Quote: Thanks, Hybrid read the container as a 1.185 aspect ratio but preferred 1.580. I want to revert to the former, so under Input from PAR, should I change 1580 X 1000 (the preselect) to 1185 X 1000?
Input par will not convert, but assume. If 1.580 is the correct par, then setting it under input par is correct. (side note: 1.58 seems like a strange/uncommon PAR; hope you are not mixing PAR and DAR there)

Quote: Also, this is an MPEG-2 file (with an anamorphic transfer) so should I check Convert output to PAR, then select NTSC 16:9 (32:27) from the pulldown choices?
That depends on what you want to archive. Usually folks try to convert to 1:1 PAR.

Quote: I've been perusing the Misc subtab (under Crop/Resize) and wondering if there are there any filters I should check? The one I'm wondering about is Keep output PAR...if that needs to have a checkmark.
This also depends on what you are really aiming to do, what your target format is,...
=> you have to decide that. (I only fiddle with those settings once a year tops in my work flows,..)

Dev versions are in the 'experimental'-folder of my GoogleDrive, which is linked on the download page.
