Using Stable Diffision models for Colorization
Thumbs Up
The colorization quality is truly impressive, and the overall result is excellent. However, there are two important improvements that would make the tool significantly more powerful for professional film restoration and colorization:
  1. Temporal Color Consistency:
We need better color stabilization and temporal consistency between consecutive frames. When the same character is wearing the same clothes throughout a scene, the clothing colors should remain stable and consistent from frame to frame, without unwanted color shifts or flickering. This is especially important for professional restoration workflows.
  2. Audio Preservation:
The output video should preserve the original audio track after colorization. Currently, the colorized result can be exported without sound, which makes it necessary to manually synchronize and re-add the original audio afterward. It would be much more practical if the tool automatically retained the original audio and synchronized it perfectly with the colorized video.
Overall, this is an outstanding piece of work with tremendous potential. If these two features—stronger temporal color consistency and automatic preservation of the original audio—could be implemented in a future update, the tool would become even more suitable for professional film restoration and large-scale archival projects.
We sincerely hope these improvements can be added soon. Heart
