1. even if you add an mplayer which supports .DAT, Hybrid will probably not support it properly since tons of other tools Hybrid might have a problem with the file.
2. Easiest way is probably just to de- and reinstall Hybrid.
3. don't really think the problem is really related to mplayer unless you not only replaced mplayer but other files too
