Esxi running macos For selur

There is an option in the actions for the guest system which says upgrade VMTools, but that gives me:

Fehler beim Upgrade von VMware Tools für Mojave (Hybrid dev): Der Vorgang ist im aktuellen Zustand nicht zulässig

so not clue what it's referring to when it says 'the action is not allowed in the current state' :/
My guess is the problem is that the CD/DVD drive is still associated with the darwin.iso, but I can't find a way to remove the iso, I can only select another one,.. :/
