In the case of the ancient VHS I'm trying to improve, I don't think I need to worry too much about any minor colour shift.

I wish I had your knowledge!

Okay, issue seems like there was a 1 frame difference somehow, not a color issue.
-> Do Avisynth and Vapoursynth work for you now? Cu Selur

Avisynth worked fine with Cnr2. I'm running a mClean in Vapoursnyth now.
There are so many filters, and within each filter so many variables. It's hard to know where to begin with VHS clean-up work.

And you don't have the torchAddon which additionally adds some ml (machine learning) based filters to Vapoursynth.

I'd like to try the add-on - if it isn't too difficult.
Will have to package and upload it anew (a few things changed).
Also note it: a. requires a NVIDIA graphic card b. a 12GB download and 18gb extracted -> so if you are still interessted I can package it anew and upload it. Also: Introduced a bug in the Vapoursynth Preview in my dev version, uploaded a new one and send you a link via pm. Cu Selur

It's a feature film, so many different scenes with different quality and lighting etc. And it's from a VHS that is from a master tape that was originally shot on uMatic back in 1983. Not an easy task.
Okay, will package and upload the addOn and send you a link.
Also since you are looking for more options. Hybrid also allows to:
Since I have to go to bed now I'll send you the link via pm. Upload should be finished in ~50min. => have fun Cu Selur |
