You clould probably use it to clean up captured content, but I'm not aware of any guide for Hybrid aiming for this.
In general Hybrid is aimed at advanced users that know about filtering&co, so it might not be the best tool to start.
Regarding the capturing: You might want to look over at videohelp.com, digitalfaq.com or similar sites that have guides and quite a few folks which capture vhs content on a daily basis. The main thing with VHS is that the actual capturing with decent equipement is the most important part, since any filtering is bound to only create mediocre results if the input isn't decent.
