i rather doubt someone will port 32bit vfw mjpeg codec to 64bit, but is there a way to "transplant" 32bit installation of that codec to 64bit os(10 or 11)? given that installer itself won't work on newer os.
it's dll itself and some registry entry, right?

No, a 32bit vfw decoder won't work just by patching a registry entry.
