Okily Dokily,

Is it just me/Tduck , or can't you use KNLmeans denoiser in qtgmc past a certain value ?

See, i noticed visuall changes up to a certain value (2 - 5) but close or past 10 i don't see any difference anymore...ย ย
And the max value can go up to 1 hundred / 100โ“ย

So, what is diz duck missing/overlooking here ๐Ÿค”

No, that sounds correct, you can look at it yourself, see:QTGMC script.
QTGMCs main goal is for:
a. Deinterlacing
b. removing artifacts related to deinterlacing
=> overly strong denoising doesn't make sense there

Even though it's not created for denoising.. in general it's a better overal denoised , compared to other filters ๐Ÿคจ ..

btb, thanks for the link ๐Ÿ˜‰

.. so is it a approperiate filter to use on 1080p progresive video material ?
I mean, judging by the results i would think so..

I rarely use QTGMC for denoising, but if it's useful for your sources for denoising, that's fine. Smile

There is no general 'appropriate' filter, it always depends on the source, if it works fine for your sources, use it. Smile

It's the only filter that effectively removes the grain in old remastered movies you know ..ย
And trust me i have tried quite some filters, and combinations ..

Hence, why iam looking for a way to use stronger knlmeans settings..ย  I probebly can use KNLmeans in combo with QTGMC to accomplish that..ย
