[BUG] Hybrid not renaming output files with VapourSynth used
#1
Bug
Didn't really see anyone talking about this and maybe it's just the way I'm using Hybrid that causes it to not automatically rename my output to the names I've set. I didn't really mind this behavior but now that I'm using it more and more, it has now become an inconvenience.

Currently using Hybrid 2024.12.21.1 on Windows 10 with both the Torch_Vapoursynth and vsgan_models addons installed.
Hybrid only does not rename the output files if I explicitly enabled a filter in Vapoursynth (though the only filter I've used a lot is the one under Frame). It will leave the files with their temp names instead e.g. 2025-02-19@04_37_59_3610.mkv.
Using Hybrid normally won't cause this.

My input and output is usually in the same folder in my D: drive, and the temporary folder for Hybrid is in %TEMP% in C: drive. I never tried changing the temp folder for Hybrid.

Here's how I've been using Hybrid to cause this:
  1. Choose an input file. Under Processing, choose a video codec (I only ever chose between x264 and x265) and audio codec (either passthrough all or custom). Choose a format in Default Container, and then set an output filename (I always output into the same folder as the input).
  2. Under x264 or x265 tab, set the parameters according to preferences. (Usually I pick a preset and then disable scene change and set a constant GOP size, etc.).
  3. Under Filtering, go to Frame, tick the Frame Interpolation checkbox, choose RIFE, pick rife-v4.26 (ensemble=False) (doesn't matter which model really, it will always not rename the output automatically regardless but the one I mentioned is my favorite). Target FPS typically to 60/1 or 120/1 and GPU-threads to 2 (I don't have the latest model of shiny stuff). Leave everything else as is.
  4. Finally, under Base, click Add to queue or Add to queue and start queue.

Hybrid will do everything normally except the very last subjob where it's supposed to rename the output file, leaving the progress at under 100% and will not automatically start the next job in queue because of this. Forcing it to resume by pressing Start and Pause/Resume will not do anything. I have to remove this stalled job and then start the next job in queue as a workaround (that also stalls again and I have to repeat this for every next job).

Hold up. I found out what caused this.

It randomly worked normally and turns out it only happens if the output filename has Chinese/Japanese characters in them.

the problem is in the hieroglyphs and special characters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?????????????????? :::::::::::::  ''''''''''''''''''' etc

that's why before coding I always change the name to the usual Latin - Girls' Generation - to - Girls Generation - or - SNSD

Okay, since the encoding is done, it should be independent of the encoding setting and filtering.
Can you share a small sample and a name and some limited instructions to reproduce this?
