Ah yes … I see now how 'Vapoursynth Preview' works ... thanks! It takes quite a while until the video preview window loads (for bigger files). Is there a way to speed up so the preview window loads faster (just to check TFF or BFF)?
Your assumption was correct … I left it at 4:4:4 … problem solved … thanks again!
Here’s my sequence of what I will do:
1. Digitize the VHS video with Vdub 1.9.11. Codec: Huffyuv v2.1.1.
2. Deinterlace the avi with Hybrid. Codec: FFvHuFF
3. Filter the video with Vdub 2 64 bit (Denoise, mask overscan, change color range to 16-235, etc.). Codec: Blackmagic SD 8-bit 4:2:2
4. Convert to mp4. I first wanted to use Handbrake but now I will also use Hybrid.
- Is this the correct sequence (Deinterlace before filtering in Vdub 2)?
- I use three different codec for three steps. Is that a problem (quality, compatibility)?
Kind regards,
Fabian
