Help confirming if Hybrid is running Torch-based QTGMC for VHS restoration
#1
Question
Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting. I'm currently working on restoring a VHS tape using Hybrid and wanted help confirming whether my setup is properly using Torch acceleration, specifically for QTGMC.

Here’s the context:
  • I'm using Hybrid on Windows, with VapourSynth enabled
  • My GPU is an NVIDIA RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
  • In the startup log, I can see Torch-based plugins like vsRIFE (torch) and vsRealESRGAN are detected (i can attach a screenshot)
  • VapourSynth itself is available and working
  • I believe QTGMC bob deinterlacing is necessary to preserve motion quality for this video, since i am receiving a signal of 1080i 59.94
  • However, QTGMC runs very slowly, which makes me think it might still be running on CPU, not Torch/GPU

What I’d like to know:
  1. How can I confirm that Hybrid is actually running the Torch version of QTGMC, if it’s available?
  2. Is there something I need to configure in Hybrid (or VapourSynth) to make sure it’s using the GPU-accelerated version of QTGMC?
  3. If Hybrid doesn't support Torch-QTGMC directly in the UI, is there a way I can force it through the VapourSynth editor or a custom script within Hybrid?
I’d really appreciate any guidance. Everything appears to be working fine from the log, but I just want to ensure I’m not missing out on GPU acceleration and wasting time with CPU-only deinterlacing.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
