The best guess native resolution is a very useful tool.  Selur, have you considered adding that to hybrid?  Just like the auto crop, a tool that will scan the video and predict which resolution to descale.  I sometimes see tv videos that are 720 or 1080 from the 1970s, its challenging to determine if they are 360 or 480 natively.
