Missing audio on ProRes 32 bit float, and 24 bit pcm
#1
Hello,
'
I have been using hybrid to de-interlace captured videos for many months now and it has worked very well for me for months.

I have started to capture using Davinci Resolve which captures in 32 bit float for audio.  The files play back just fine in VLC but Hybrid deinterlacing produces muted audio.

1-  Does Hybrid support pass-through copying of 32 bit Float audio?

When I export from Davinci Resolve in 24 bit PCM it usually will properly convert that but recently it no longer does.  Again using ProRes 422 HQ.

What should I check to make sure I haven't accidentally set something wrong?  The Pass-Through mode for H265 and ProRes has worked for me in the past.

Deinterlacing is about the video, not the audio handling.
Assuming you configured Hybrid to pass through the audio and mux to a container which supports your source format, Hybrid should be able to pass through the audio.
If not, best share a small source sample which allows reproducing the problem and a debug output which shows what you did, starting with the loading of the source.

Since my first posting I have discovered a curious thing about this problem.  My program is 2 hrs and 32 minutes long   If I cut it up into smaller parts and captures them say as three segments, then the Hybrid deinterlacing works exactly as it should.  I have repeated this with several different sized short captures with all settings the same and they all work.  It appears that only the longest one does not.

I am uploading the original captured file along with the resulting output without audio for your inspection.   All of my resulting files have good deinterlaced video, but the audio is just missing when played back using VLA on the full length version.

I have also uploaded two short clips from the full episode as captured and after deinterlacing.

Here is my dropbox link to the samples.

I hope you are able to duplicate the problem. Huh

Good Luck!

Will look at it after work today. Not enough time to download the files now. Probably will only download the Ending.mov trying to reproduce the problem.

read sticky.

Ps.: or do I need the full length version to reproduce the problem?

Hello,

I know the files are big and it is a long program.  The isssue appears to only happen with the full length 2:32:11 episode.  All of the other shorter clips of the same video don' have audio.  I have also tried it with Blackmagic Express and Davinci Resolve 20.2.2.  The long version seems to cause the problem.

Very strange!

P.S. I will try and run a debug output of the problem tomorrow.

Hello,

I am now seeing this behavior in other programs as well.  I am working on finding out why.  The failed files also don't have any audio settings shown in MediaInfo.  I am now wondering about my installations.

In any event, please stand by.  I don't want you chasing after a false report.  I will report back when I learn more.

Thank You,

I have now duplicated the missing audio in a second long capture as interlaced to be de-interlaced.  I captured a video that is 2hrs 23 minutes long and after checking it carefully, the deinterlacing is good but the audio is missing.  I have divided the file in half, and both of the halves complete just fine.  This is definitely a problem with a PreRes file and Hybrid.  I have uploaded the second file to my dropbox for you to take a look at.  I also loaded the two halves that DO De-interlace with Audio using Hybrid.  The Larger file doesn't and here is the MediaInfo output of that file.

I hope you are able to see this problem with these files.

So, is any of these files the source which should allow reproducing the issue?
Where is the debug output?
