[INFO] Removing reel-change markings in Hybrid
#1
I have some LD recordings that have change-cue marks/flags in the upper-right corner of the image that I'd like to expunge. Are there any filters in Hybrid for change-scene detection?

Using the torch add-on and ProPainter Hybrid does support inpainting which should allow remove logos&co.
It might help with the markings, would need an example to say for sure.
If those marks are only shortly visible, Spotless and similar artifact removal filters will help.

To do what? There are a few filters which use scene change detection.
There are multiple filters in Vapoursynth (not in Hybrid), like:
https://github.com/dubhater/vapoursynth-scxvid
https://github.com/adworacz/zscene
that might help depending on what you are looking to do with the scene detection,...

Thanks for your prompt feedback!

Do I have to download ProPainter and the torch add-on? You probably have an install guide?

I found AddLogo filter in Hybrid but no filters for removing logos.

ProPainter is the only Logo-Removal filter in Hybrid.
It comes with the torch add-on. Installation is simple: Delete the Hybrid/64bit/Vapoursynth folder. Extract the content of the torch add-on into the Hybrid/64bit -folder. (if you use VSGAN you might also want to use the vsgan_models download)
=> best read the README in the GoggleDrive folder

Note that the torch-add-on requires a modern NVIDIA card.

Okay, thanks for those instructions. Just to confirm before I delete the Vapoursynth folder: removing that won't also delete the json files I created custom profiles for in Vapoursynth, will it? I tweaked settings for several of the filters and saved profiles for them so I want to ensure those will still be preserved.

No, those are saved inside the settings folder, see "Config->Paths->Infos->Settings path" for where that folder is on your system. Smile
