Thanks for this great software
I am using version 2025.11.09.1
I got Virus.Moyv
C:/Program Files/Hybrid/64bit/ffmbc.exe
I have quarantined it but I am worried about this

Probably a false positive.
What does virustotal.com report about the binary.
Hybrid will work fine without ffmbc.

I haven't checked with virustotal, it's been working fine since last year on my old windows 10 PC, I haven't updated hybrid I installed the same 2025 version on both my windows 11 PCS.

It's definitely a threat it's an ffmpeg plugin of some kind.

I've quarantined it just to be safe
I tested hybrid and it's working fine.
I will check on my other pc tomorrow I have the same version installed on it as well I'll do the same and see what happens?

I was so worried because this threat means you could have to reformat the PC, luckily I didn't have to every thing seems to be working.

Please remove whatever this is in the next version, please test each thing you are adding to hybrid because hybrid has become very trusted in the video capture community, everyone it using it.

Huh

Can't reproduce the issue here.
Neither the 2025.11.09.1 version nor the latest dev trigger anything here.
2025.11.09.1 comes with an ffmbc version compiled on 23.08.2024.
latest dev comes with an ffmbc version compiled on 07.03.2026.
Both versions werecompiled by me using https://github.com/m-ab-s/media-autobuild_suite.
Neither Windows Defender, MalwareBytes nor virtualtotal.com complains about ffmbc.

=> this is false-positive, nothing for me to do. This is a problem of your anti-virus solution or something else on your PC or network.

Virus.M0yv is Malwarebytes’ detection name for a file-infector that spreads on systems and through networks by infecting other executable files.
Type and source of infection

Virus.M0yv can change legitimate files into infected files. The virus was reportedly developed by the Maze ransomware group.
Aftermath

After removal of the infected files the system may be missing vital files for programs to run, which often makes a re-format of the system necessary. All removable drives that have been used on an infected system should be checked for the presence of the virus as well.

I got the same thing today on my other pc too, removed it and everything seems ok now.

I will have to do a full scan tomorrow. I am so worried about this threat.

Malwarebytes picked it up on both pcs with same file name on both pcs linking it to an ffmpeg plugin used by hybrid. I am using the same 2025 version of hybrid.

Threat location
Hybrid 64bit/ffmbc.ex
Threat name Virus.M0yv

It can't be a false positive on both pcs with both picking the same thing  same file path with the same malwarebytes software. After removing it from the other PC, I ran a malwarebytes full scan today 0 threats found.

It has to be that, if it's not important then please remove this plugin because this seems and be a very dangerous threat if it's not picked up early.

ffbmc is fine.
I redownloaded the exe from:
https://www.videohelp.com/download/Hybri..._SETUP.exe
fed it to malwayre bytes and virustotal and none issues were replace.
Since Virus.M0yv can change legitimate files into infected files, my guess is that this is happening for you.

After deleting ffbmc.exe
I did the malwarebytes scan again, this time malwarebytes found  0 threats on either  PC.

I don't do anything dangerous on the second PC
both PCS same threat same file name same location.

This threat Virus.M0yv corrupted some files on both of PC'S but I fixed that with windows file repair, restarted the PC did the scan and everything was ok.

No other file was picked up as a virus or threat
I think I will just keep it like that without ffbmc.

Whenever I upgraded my PC again and install hybrid on it again I will always remove this, since it works fine without it.

Where in hybrid is it located?
I'm going to remove it when I install it in future, what does mean actually do ?

I also got flagged by Malwarebytes for this with the same file and virus during a scan yesterday. Did a deep scan after removing and the only thing it found was the same file from an old install of hybird I had on a different drive.  Removed the file, did restart/recscan, and it came up clean.

I also threw it into virustotal and its only being detected by Malwarebytes(1/65) so I'm guessing its a false positive.  Just to be safe, I downloaded the newest version of Hybrid and the new ffmbc file was completely clean in scans.

Good to know I'm not the only one getting this because I thought it might have been because of something else.

I also did the full scan it came up, I removed it and did the full scan again the next day and it was all clean after malwarebytes removed ffbmc.exe from hybrid that's why I'm keeping this version without the ffbmc.exe, now I'm sure this file has the issue if you got the same file flagged by malwarebytes.

I'm pretty sure it's a false positive.
Since the current version doesn't have the issue and you are looking at a ~1year old library, I'm not really trying to look into it further. (+ strange that I can't reproduce it here with that version; downloaded from videohelp)
