HEVC and Safari
#1
Hi,
has anyone any experience with HEVC and Safari?
If I take HEVC-videos with a mobile phone (I have tried different ones with the same result), Safari is able to play those videos. But Safari won't play ANY of the videos I have encoded with FFMPEG. Sad
I've already compared the metadata, they look the same to me and yes, I'm using the hvc1 brand.
Any other ideas why Safari might have an issue with those files?
Thanks!

Moved the thread, since it doesn't seem to be Hyrid related.
Are you directly playing the file with Safari or did you embed the file into a webpage you open with Safari?
Have you tried using MP4Box for muxing and tagging?
Also when using ffmpeg make sure to use '-bsf:v hevc_mp4toannexb' when muxing hevc content.
