about 720×480 upscale to 1920×1280 and 1440×1080,

i feel the auto adjust way result 1920×1280 quality is a little better than the 1920×1080 through letterbox,

is it because when using the 1920×1080 way, the real picture is 1440×1080, and 1440×1080 way is not reach the FullHD standard?  but i use NNEDI3 to upscale to 1920×1280, it's exceeding the FullHD 1920×1080 standard quality, is it right?

or both 1440×1080 and 1920×1280 is actually the same quality, because they are upscaled by the same 720×480?
Other than that quality is in the eye of the beholder and it totally depends on what you want. If 1920x1280 is okay as output resolution for you use that, otherwise you have to resize.

What Hybrid does is it first uses NNEDI3 to upscale and then uses the Resizer under the NNEDI3 settings to downscale to your resolution.
-> try whether using a different resizer helps

is my setting are the best quality? NNED3 48×6, spline64, neurons:256, level2, network2, optimize.

the only drawback is that the encode time is very long?

No clue whether those are the best settings for your source, but yes extending the search range only has the downsize that conversion gets really slow.

yes, setting like this is very slow, but it's much faster than the Vide Enhance AI to process, so if it can get best quality, slow is acceptable.
256 neurons and Prescreening level 2 is very slow and useless. Use 32 (64 max) Prescreening level 1 (2 max)
P.S. i recommend (again) to read my guide and all this thread here https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewt...3&t=109259 all basic questions you ask are answered and described there.

great, thank you. so it's better to use 32 neurons and level1 1 when i upscale 720×480 to 1920×1080?

how about the neighbood? 16×6?
I can't see any real difference between 256 neurons and level2 vs 32 neurons and level1. Only crazy difference in speed. 32 neurons, level2, Network 2 also works ok.

P.S. I suggest you to open right info panel CTRL+F10 in Hybrid or right mouse click on parameter or button to see quick help tips. I learn all things like this. It is very useful.

OK, thanks
Quick question:

Does Re-sizing with NNEDi3 also de-interlace as it re-sizes?

Or do I also need to de-interlace with QTGMC at the same time as upscaling with NNEDi3?
