- Hybrid 2024.12.11.1
- Some frames at the end of videos, during black screen, are removed.
- Open the video sample, encode with any codec. Note that using Vapoursynth or Avisynth, filters or no filters, do not change the result. The sample will go from 314 frames to 62 frames, you should be able to reproduce.

It happened with many videos, bu the number of deleted frames in black screen go from one to hundreds.

Where does the 314 frames come from?
Playing the sample I see no 314 frames. (which should be ~13 seconds at 23.976fps)

Those headers are wrong in multiple places.
(Report file holds no info that isn't part of the debug output,..)

So Hybrid will assume CFR, but the video stream stream reports vfr.
You might want to enable either: "Config->Automation->On Load->Always extract time codes from input" or "Config->Input->Decoding->CFR Output".
When enabling the time code extraction on the given sample, Hybrid reports: "Adjusting frame count (114555) to time code entry count (63)."

Hybrid seems correct.

Looking at the debug output, I don't see any indication of a problem.

No clue where the 114834 comes from, the above header info shows:

I see nothing wrong in the way Hybrid processes the sample. (So I see no bug in Hybrid.)
To me that sample (and potentially your source) simply is broken.

I tried both of your options, but it doesn't change anything.

Btw it was 341 frames for the source my bad. And I check this in virtualdub

So, everytime the encoded sample is 62 frames (~2 seconds) instead of 341 frames (~14 seconds)

Assuming the source, is the sample you shared, VirtualDub seems to do something different from any tool I use here.
Since even mkvtoolnix/mkvextract only reports the shown time codes (for each frame, there has to be a time code), I think VirtualDub is the one at fault here. (or your source is incompatible with anything that uses libav or hardware decoding)

Update : I think you're right, the sources have an issue. The play time and the number of frames in VirtualDub are simply wrong.
But when I remux them, the have the exact same number of frames / duration than Hybrid encoded files.

Hybrid isn't the culprit here 👍
