Hello! Please tell me, how can I override metadata for color primaries? I need to convert rec.601 to rec.709.
It happens that OBS records with NTSC tag for color primes, when in rec.601 mode (my framerate and resolution are PAL, it's just OBS thing). I found built in LUT (TimeCube) for bt.601 PAL -> bt.709, but i'm not sure about correctness(?) of this approach and encoding speed (hadn't tried yet)...
TimeCube and other stuff under ColorMatrix, changes the ColorMatrix not the primaries. Also those filers do not overwrite, but convert the ColorMatrix.
Since Color Primaries are only supported in some encoders, you can only overwrite them in the encoder settings.

Yes, I know that)
It seems like OBS has surprisngly poor documentation when it comes to "non standard" stuff. I tried capturing my pattern generator from TBC as rec.601 and rec.709 (rec.601 in source settings, of course) and after importing in Davinci Resolve, I can't see any major differences, even with vectorscope...
Nobody is probably using the color primaries. Smile
Yeah, but for some reason OBS reports and writes rec.601 as rec.601 NTSC  Angry

Sure that isn't just a bug in MediaInfo?
(Hybrid doesn't differentiate between the two at all. Smile)
