In the preview window, when I zoom in, the comparison window shows the frames side by side, but we have to slide the images to see the changes. How do I make the zoomed in image spots the same location, for easier comparison? Or did you not add this feature?

When using 'Compare View', using Split Compare View might help with comparing stuff.
Try setting "Filtering->Vapoursynth->Preview->Split Compare View->FilterView mode" to 'interleaved'.
