Hi Selur and all members,
I have a question. I used to use different filters in the following way: Filtering – Vapoursynth, followed by different filters, but with Video x264 and other settings. However, even with an old 1060 6GB GPU, can I set NVEnc to accelerate some steps? If I do this, however, and try to set lossless settings, I cannot see the filters as before.
How can I activate them? Are the filters applied in the same way in both methods (CPU and GPU)? I mean final quality, is it the same?

'NVEnc->Hardware->Only use encoder' offers some filters which either are really using the nvenc/nvdec chip or at least the gpu.
Not that 'Only use encoder' will disable Vapoursynth/Avisynth support, but you can combine these, by enabling 'NVEnc->Misc->Misc->DirectSynth Loading', but those filters when then only be applied after the Vapoursynth filtering, you can't use them in the middle of it. Without 'DirectSynth' enabled only enable 'Only use encoder' if your input can be decoded by the NVDec chip.

If you 'just' want to use the gpu, multiple filters offer CL/GPUOpenCL options which allow to use hardware acceleration, but be sure to check the Vapoursynth Preview to make sure your driver setup and gpu support them.

Quality wise, hardware based filter support usually can be a bit less accurate than software filtering, but the difference usually is neglectable.

Hmm, I see. So maybe it is better to use it as it is. I have a GTX 1060 6GB, but I may update my PC soon so even CPU processes will be much faster. Thank you for the info about the quality of a render using CPU vs GPU.
PS I tried to choose DNxHR in the Processing-Video list, and there is only the DNxHD option. But then, right to the Base, there is DNxHD, and in Profile I can see DNxHR HQX so I understand it is just a way to go, yes?
sounds right
Thank you.
