Hi there

Which of the two do you think is a better option for Frame Interpolation. Vapoursynth or AVIsynth?

I ususally prefer Vapoursynth, since:
a. it seems to run more stable
b. it offers more option regarding different the used methods

Thanks for that info. I was thinking that may be the case. I've only just started to use it on a 1080p video. I'm converting from 25 to 50fps and kept all the other settings on default. However, I have ticked the Overwrite options to see how it turns out. I'm guessing they may improve the video too?

Under Tuning do you recommend leaving it on Film for live-action or is Smooth a better option?

Okay, you are using Interframe.
I usually use 'smooth'.
About the overwrite options, see: https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Manual:SVPflow
and yes, adjusting these per movie can help.

I am trying Interframe to see if it may be the best option for smoother playback, especially on some videos with scrolling credits that are unreadable. I'm not familiar with the various options as I haven't tried frame interpolation with the software before.
Any alternative settings you can suggest?

No real suggestion, I usually try the different methods and choose the one that produces the least amount of artifacts with the video I want to interpolate. Smile
