Deoldify Vapoursynth filter
I was curious about this case.  A video that the image is  4:3 with added side black bars on either side to make it look letterbox 16:9.
Is it best to crop the black bars back to 4:3 and then colorize or it makes no difference?  In other words, do the black side bars make the colorization less effective?
Reply
It will take longer to colorize if you don't crop since the pixel count is higher.

Looks great hallomanbh.  Will Deep Remaster be included on the next release?
Reply
No, I'm not planning to include it.
Also looking at your video: there are two different colorization versions, how do they differ?

In this paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.06251 there is a fair comparison of color models and the performance of DeepRemaster was not so good.
You could probably obtain the same results using DeepEx that is already included in Hybrid.

Dan, I was looking at the pdf on the link you've posted.  You're right about the DeepRemaster, it looked the worst of them all.  Their ColorMNet looks just about perfect.  Any updates when that model will become available?

Looking at the Github page https://github.com/yyang181/colormnet and the OpenXLab page they wanted to setup after 1 or 2 weeks doesn't exist.
4m month without an update
=> it does not seem likely that there ever will be a release,...
