Using AviSource is probably why it works now.

Huh, totally forgot about this thread. I seemingly overcome the problem but I cannot tell what was the actual fix. What I did:
  • recaptured the tape into a single .dv file using ffmpeg (not ffmpeg-dl, see link)
  • updated Hybrid to 2025.05.18.2
  • reset all defaults, used QTGMC Fast, AAC 320, x264
The output is in sync from start to end. Yay!
