It's doesn't make sense to me to upscale already FHD content

There are also users which upscale 1080p to 2160p.

Somehow i knew you would mention 1080p > 4K upscaling..  
Hence why i wrote, the use a selection of denoise/sharpening filters do just that..  Just like you yield better results using that combo over esrGan, like you've said .. right?

Vsgan, vsmlrt..all other upscalers are bad compared to ESRgan imo.. !

You don't want to use proper terminology.

A. that's because i wos refering to "Resizers" not models..?  Last time i checked, VSGAN is STILL a resizer, is it not   ?

I could, but I will not, since it would not make sense to do that.
I change the filter settings depending on the source. Depending on the source I apply different filters in different orders, masked and only on specific section of a source.

Example SD source 720*576/progressive 25fps, 16/9 DAR → Live Action (no anime / manga / cgi etc..)  .. simple enough . NO ?
