Just had a look at the new MacMini,..
Apple M1 chip with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU
16-core Neural Engine
8GB unified memory
256GB SSD storage
Gigabit Ethernet
aside from the RAM not bad, but an additional 200€/$ for an additional 8GB RAM is just rude, when keeping in mind that 8 GB DDR4 ram is something like 30€.

Also the M1 chip doesn't support external GPUs, so no way to use NVIDA/AMD/Intel VPUs for encoding or decoding.
