Esxi running macos For selur
Quote:Strange artifacts when i apply any LUT. Probably something related to color range, because artifacts partially disappear when i activate range conversion.
Doesn't happen to me with any of the LUT files from https://github.com/FranceBB/LinearTransformation in Windows.
Also not sure why forcing a luma range should have this effect. Since the content should be converted to RGB24 beforce feeding it to TimeCube.

I'll look into rewriting the ColorMatrix code, so don't expect any other updates the next 1-2 weeks.

Good luck with ColorMatrix!

Seems i was able to reproduce small error pop-up with YAHR "Got an empty value for 'vsYAHRBlur', please report to Selur!" :
- Apply YAHR (both settings untouched and set to 0, but no error yet)
- Go to Filter(s) presets, select DeHalo - YAHR
- Press "Reset"

- Apply YAHR ERROR pop-up "Got an empty value for 'vsYAHRBlur', please report to Selur!"

Silly question
Never used LUTS before but can i use any LUT? Like ones for color grading?

And is it only one LUT for the entire film? Or can you do multiple based on time stamps.

Only asking because i dont have a video card, so davinci resolve is a no go. But i think i can do color grading in premiere without a video card,
Reply
Think I know why this happens: seems liek the defaults didn't include values for vsYAHRBlur and vsYAHRDepth

Hybrid only supports the usage of on LUT atm.
In theory you could use multiple.
And yes any LUT in the right format should work.

Small request for TimeCube (guess it is more related to to plug-in developer, but who knows) Add native support for HaldCLUT format.

There is huge package of beautiful G'MIC and RawTherapee film emulation LUTs made from real film stocks sources. But these LUTs provided only in HaldCLUT format. I made repack for this package converted to .cube format (sort of ultra low cost commercial pack) https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewt...53#p569634 But native HaldCLUT support is always useful.

Also HaldCLUTs allow easy export color correction form many other applications (those LUTs are just a PNG or TIFF chart images) and from this point of view they are more flexible than .cube format.

Guess i'll keep this version of Hybrid and TimeCube for some special effects purposes  Smile . It somehow amplifies invisible pixel/block compression structure from darkest areas and randomly colorize it. Maybe idea for future glitch machine plug-in?

ChaosKing suggested remove SangNomMod and i agree with him. Plug-ins that support only 8 bit depth are unacceptable.

Fine by me, works fine in Windows.

Don't think this is so small but you are right you should contatct the plug-in developer: https://github.com/sekrit-twc/timecube
3D LUTs are quite common and have been used for colro graiding/calibration/changes for 10+ years in photo and video editing.
There are tons of free ressources for them,... for me HaldCLUT are way more uncommon,.. Smile

reading that my first impulse is to drop 10bit+ support,..

Did a quick remodelling of the ColorMatrix handling not sure what I broke, but I'm pretty sure I must have broken some stuff. Smile
(can't motivate me to do a proper rewrite atm.)
uploaded a new version,..
-> happy testing

8 bit plug-ins are OK for DVD and for DV tape sources restoration because it is usually 8 bit 4:2:0. All those very specific tools like Bifrost, DeCross, Vinverse are 8 bit only (example http://vsdb.top/plugins/vinverse )

But for analogue sources 8 bit is not a limit. More-less professional capture cards and codecs do native 10-bit 4:2:2 from VHS, Hi8 and any other tape source and it is totally different level of quality and color correction flexibility.
But anyway, why limit plug-in development with 8 bit from start? It is not convenient. Soon or late someone need some restoration tool for 10 but capture and oops, it transforms everything to 8 bit. Also (same as in audio) bit depth upscale for processing have advantages.

In updated ColorMatrix a lot of new color options (some of them i never see before and have no idea of their purpose).
New option "Transfer" in ColorMatrix. When i change things in "Transfer" i don't see any changes to image. Should it be there? "Transfer" is a "Gamma".

601 to 709 transform seems work same as before.
If i set output to "RGB" i can't use VS preview.

Can't turn on HDR10toSDR (Image in viewer changes, but all controls are inactive)
Can't turn on ToneMap. (Image in viewer changes, but all controls are inactive)

DeHalo YAHR preset seems fixed.

Transfer is only used when 'From' or 'To' is "2020.." otherwise it's not needed/used, will be grayed out in the future.

YUV color family cannot have RGB matrix coefficients.
-> I best remove it completely, since Hybrid can't know whether the video will be RGB or YUV before it builds the script.
