this might help you...
So, mux crash happends when DD+ track is involved..
But.. it doesn't crash when i change one setting in the adio encode tab.. and that is "Method = e,b,n" all the settings other than "none"..!
But doing so, results in ts file WITHOUT the eac3 adio track... it just doesn't want to mux the 2 a/v tracks together
Selecting method = "none" → crash !?
But then again, even if it doesn't envolve audio encode and i choose to add / passthrough the e-ac3 track from the source.. same crash happends 
Oh well..

It's hard to follow your posts.
So open issues atm.
a. muxing pgs with ffmpeg into .ts/.m2ts results in async output (subtitle vs. a/v), seems like a bug in ffmpeg (will have to investigate further)
b. muxing e-ac3 with tsMuxeR sometimes fails. (problem seems to be related to using A_AC3 vs A_MLP)
I will try to look at it when I have some time.
Busy at work, atm. 12hrs+ workdays, so maybe on the weekend.

Send you a link to anew version.
This version which always used A_AC3 for e-ac3 streams, not sure which streams require A_MLP, so if you have a file that can't be remuxed, share a sample.
This version allows creating avc+e-ac3 from your testsample (2).mkv sample without problems here.

I know, many things go wrong in hybrid now !! A leads to b... wich leads to.. ?
I mean, if b. would be fixed.. i don't need a. .. since a. is pushing me to B. and back... you know 
so, A. accomplished things that b. can't and vice versa because of the crashes & out of sync issues ! .. Does that make sense

Iam not following you when you talk about A_AC3 for e-ac3 and A_MLP ? You lost me there ...
Are you refering to audio track extensions / formats or some tool that makes use of that ?

Yes, i have noticed... its mentioned in the meta files..
But what i like to know.. is "A_AC3" actually not refering to → AC3 core whitin the E-AC3 = A_MLP i presume ?
Furthermore, regarding your latest release..
I have Good news and ... ofcourse BaD news 
The good news is , that hybrid succesfully muxes both A/V into TS , no crash..
BUT and this is an BIG but , because eventually the output file is useless for playback !!
In powerdvd "no sound" + lots and lots of framestutter...
In DVDfab player i have sound , but lots of framestutter ↑
And most important, my hardware bdplayer now throws the message "Audio Format not supported" all of a sudden ... and ofcourse there's no sound!
You see, something affects the A + V tracks and or other content like PGS that cause "no sound" and framestutter when hybrid uses tsmuxer ! But what ..!
This is insane..

Aside from the mangled aspect ratio 'testsample (2).mkv' with just reencoded audio (to e-ac3) plays fine in MPC-HC.

True, but "ONLY" mpc-hc play correct.. wich is not acceptable for me... if it doesn't play correct in my hardware stand alone!

That's the REAL ↑ issue here i think...
But then how do you explain this..
The very same file manually muxed in TSmuxer (not via hybrid), does play just fine and bitstreams in virtuall all players (except for powerLessdvd  ) & devices with the exact same bitrate wich is 768Kbs/sec!!?
True for some magical reason you can't use just any bitrate, even though DD+ should support up to 6Mbit/sec / 15.1 channels !?
But guess what, bitrate 768Kb/sec works fine while lowering it to 448 for example does'nt anyrmore = no sound → no bitstreaming possible only PCM ! This is the most strangest thing i have encountered encoding files !!
Ill play with the bitrates, but ... i won't hold my breath  ...

Nothing strange about that, it's common that hardware players do not support everything you throw at them.
Those things are meant to playback specific stuff, same with hardware video decoders they usually don't support all frame resolution, frame rate, bit rate and encoding features that are possible. It's the same as with DTS, not everything is supported by every hardware player.
(I suspect that 640kbit/s might be the lowest most hardware players will support for 5.1 content in e-ac3.)
There is a reason folks create clip collections to test their equipment right after they bought it or go into shops with USB-sticks with media file collections to see how the hardware can handle the files.

Ofcourse, i alway's use the very same "input files" for comparison, else we keeping running in circles to find an sollution ..
As for the meta info, why is that so crucial for the final results ? It only describes the content from the input file ?

But if you use and stick to Bluray/DVD compliant standards that has been used for decades when you re-encode stuff, then there shouldn't be any issue at all , right?
NO, iam telling you.. something is very wrong at the mux stage process.. ↓
Take the sample i have added as attachement for instance ..
I have done an thorough test with that sample ..
And... the following proves unquestionable that there's definitely wrong at the mux stage !!
First i ran an test and playback the sample on all my devices and software players to see if the source file is not corrupted or has flaws in any way.
The sample (as is / untouched) has DD+ 7.1 audio track with an bitrate of 1664Kbit/sec...
it plays just flawless on any device & software player (bitstreaming) ..
NOw... check this out..
I have opened the sample in hybrid, and i did choose for Passthrough of all streams & also tried Add first audio track (→NO EAC3 re-encode / important) ..
so in essence, i've just used hybrid to remux the mkv into TS file.. NO RECODE of any kind !
Guess what...
The same thing happend .... Powerdvd (no bitstreaming)
On my BD-player the same message pops up since using the latest hybrid release (not before !) .. → "Audio Format not supported " .. .. So, all of an sudden my BD player is the limiting factor, and / or can't play that bitrate ? But accepted the audio when i tested the untouched *.mvk AND the TS file i have remuxed myself through TS muxer gui !
My hardware can't be the blame of this anymore, when infact the *.mkv file play just fine and the remuxed ts that didn't go through hybrid for muxing !
Selur, could you add the option to create custom bitrates in hybrid if it's not involving weeks works?
