Deinterlacing outputs small file only
#1
Hi

I have tried avi files with different compressions (huffyuvmagicyuvlagarithutvideo) when deinterlacing with Hybrid.
Images show the quality of the file I try to deinterlace, together with the settings in Hybrid.

However, after processing the resulting output avi file is 4.43kB small, no matter what compression file I was using as input.

Why am I not getting a full sized avi output file?

Quote:"Attached also is the debug file." nope
From your screenshots I see that your source is flagged as progressive, for Hybrid to deinterlace it you need to tell Hybrid that the source is interlaced (probably tff).
(Filtering->(De-)Interlace/Telecing->Deinterlace/Telecine Settings->Overwrite input scan type to)
Can't say anything about the output resolution, since there is no debug output. Smile

Here you added the debug output -> I'll look at it. Smile

Sorry, I edited while you were writing!

Hopefully you can see the attached files now Smile

Whatever codec were used in Virtualdub it still says progressive in Hybrid. Looking at the movie though it seems interlaced?!
I haven't done any post-processing after capturing the file in Virtualdub2

I have also tried tff but this was not helping me.

Muxing call seems fine too:
"C:\Program Files\Hybrid\64bit\ffmpeg.exe" -y  -r 50/1 -i "C:\Users\Johan\AppData\Local\Temp\2023-08-07@14_10_50_6310__07.mkv" -i "C:\Users\Johan\AppData\Local\Temp\iId_9_aid_1_2023-08-07@14_10_50_6310_01.mov" -vcodec copy -acodec copy -metadata encoding_tool="Hybrid 2023.03.17.1" -map 0:0 -map 1:0  -bsf:v h264_mp4toannexb -aspect 640:480 -r 50/1 -f avi "C:\Users\Johan\Videos\capture-lagarith_new.avi"
I strongly advice NOT to use .avi for H.264 as container, better use .mkv or .mp4, multiple b-frames, open-gop and similar are 'tricky' in .avi and some players will not support it.

from the looks of it, ffmpeg does not like the audio.

Can you share the source file with me, so I can try to reproduce the issue?

Ps.: As a side note, you might want to switch to Vapoursynth or Avisynth 64bit, instead of using 32bit Avisynth.

Here is the source avi file: https://file.io/NObIlnO74Iv1

It seems like Vapoursynth produces the same result
