[HELP] Feature film with duplicate frames
#25
Quote:they are not suited for captured content

Hmmm...well the LD transfers are taken directly from telecines. Are you implying that I have to select a different input scan type from the dropdown in V.S.? Film restorer John Meyer has proclaimed on various forums that performing an inverse telecine on a LD is an absolute necessity. I have to use a capture device. It's not like with a DVD in MakeMKV where I can just extract all the files from the disc. Even if was using a Domesday Duplicator, I would still need to capture the player's RF signal. I do need to convert 29.97 fps to 23.976. I thought I could apply Mode 7 in TDecimate. I am all confusedĀ  Huh

Quote:Since it' a capture, there is probably some noise, so you should adjut the threshold. (enable 'debug' and use Vapoursynth Preview)

Sure, I'll try the Preview. So, should I increase the threshold to the maximum of 0.999? Or would you not go that high? Do you have an optimal value that you target? What number should I not go over?

Thanks for all your input!
