Importing DPX sequence
#1
Hi,
I don't see dpx import option in Hybrid. Is it available or i am doing some mistake here?

Hybrid has no special dpx support and I have never tried to use it, so if it does not work it's not your fault.

Thanks for the reply.

I was planning a easier workflow for this project. Its about 2 hours of DPX sequence file. I will cleanup with hybrid, output Prores 4444, and next do color grade in davinci resolve. How this sounds?

And i see Bestsource2 support DPX? Can this be used with Hybrid to import DPX? Or should i convert DPX to other file format?

ProRes 4444 will not work since libav and thus Hybrid does not support the alpha channel.
If you can upload and share a short dpx file with me, I can look at it after work.
Hybrid already does support BestSource2. (can be enabled under Filtering->Vapoursynth->Misc->Source->Prefer BestSource)

I meant Prores444 is enough. No need of alpha channel. I have sent private message of the link.

Got the file, adding support for it seems simple enough, but I'm unsure whether the colors are correct and whether the detected aspect ratio is correct. Smile

Colors are correct. It has to stay in Cineon log color space and in 10 bit. And the ratio is set by the scanner and can be ignored.

Uploaded a new dev version (available in the 'experimental' folder in my GoogleDrive linked on the download site).
It should support .dpx through 'Image sequence'.
To overwrite the aspect ratio, you can change "Crop/Resize->Base->Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR)->Input PAR".

Thank you very much. It reads dpx now. Testing right now. Should see how fast the spotless works on the dpx

Reel 1: 30474 frames
Dpx read speed is 40mbps.
Cpu usage 100%
Memory usage: 28%
Using Spotless filter only.
1.50 fps.
Total estimated time: 6hrs.

My system specifications:
i7-4790k 4GHz,
32GB Ram
Nvidia Quadro P4000

Hi,
The file generated is little contrast. It doesn't match the source color and level signal. Based on my vectorscope and waveform there is light shift. While importing dpx if I set luma range from pc to tv, it looks levels don't change. But Color do change. How to make it consistent.
