Bob doubles preview speed
#1
In the latest Hybrid version, when I enable bob and then go to enable compare preview, the filtered/cropped right video plays at double the speed compared to the left unedited video. Is it possible to set them to the same speed, without having to disable bob?

Sounds a bit like the Mplayer instead of the Vapoursynth Preview got used. Sad
So assuming you are using the Vapoursynth and QTGMC and there you enabled the Bob-option, try using the Vapoursynth Preview.

When I click preview on the Filtering tab with QTGMC and bob, nothing happens, except for the circular loading icon to appear for a little while in Windows. I have to go back to Crop/Resize tab in order to see a side-by-side preview.

The loading icon might indicate that the source is getting indexed, but the window should show the preview or throw an error after the indexing.
Please read the stick and provide proper details (including a debug output of opening the Vapoursynth preview), since with the given information I can't reproduce this here.
If you installed another tool on your system that uses a globally installed Vapoursynth (and not a portable version like Hybrid does), it probably will interfere with Vapoursynth in Hybrid.

It actually started, it just took some time.
Thanks for helping out Smile

FWIW, I am having similar problems with getting Vapoursynth previews to load in the latest version of Hybrid (Win10). If a job is currently running, the preview window takes forever to load, and sometimes refuses to load at all. If no job is running, it's fine.

Depending on the used source filter and the location of your files, indexing will take a while (especially for files that are accessed via network), especially if your system is stressed already,...

Forgive my misapprehension, the preview window still takes a long to come up even when a job isn't running. It seems like a regression, because this didn't happen on the older version of Hybrid I was using (2024.09.21.1), and others have posted about having trouble getting the preview window to appear.

Could be that the indexing takes long due to:
a. source lying on a slow medium (i.e. on the network)
b. something interfering with the indexing (i.e. virus scanner)
c. the source filter indexing simply being slow for this content (might be due that the filter version changed, and the current version has a problem with your source)
d. the file simply being large (most source filters need to read through the file completely)
Could be a regression, but since I didn't change anything in Hybrid in that regard, it must be a regression in a source filter, which I can't change.

I can't be more specific, since you did not bother to share details.
