HDR10 to SDR conversion
#1
Hi all !

Maybe this is a previously mentioned question ,but....
Today i have done my first HDR10 to SDR conversion using Tonemap(placebo). (TM function : spline,Gamut mapping is perceptual)
The resulting movie is absolutely satisfying for me ,the only thing is to make it a bit brighter.
How can i do this using Hybrid ? A step by step guide would be useful. Smile
All Tonemap(placebo) settings are default ,only the mentioned ones are changed. All VUI values are changed to BT709 in SVT-AV1.
Am i miss something ?
Anyone can help me ? Smile

Nothing special.
Select under "Filtering->Vapoursynth->Color->HDR to SDR" the method you like, check VUI values in the encoder.
Use the Vapoursynth Preview to check the effect of your settings.
When using 'ToneMap (Placebo)' make sure the Source min/max fix your source and adjust the Destination min/max (lower max will increase brightness).
(When using 'ToneMap', increase the Exposure to get a brighter image.)
Since there is no standarized mapping, it's up to you to decide how you want to do it.
=> best test till you find settings that are good for your taste.

Cu Selur

Ps.: there should be other threads about this too.
